Anyone who’s worked with glass annealing knows the drill. You need those thermal gradients to be spot on, or you’re looking at internal stresses and broken product. But here’s the real pain: when it’s time to upgrade your IR heating array, the wattage usually isn’t the problem. It’s the physical mess. The wiring. The footprint. Getting it Right (and Keeping it Clean)
The faster you can get these installed, the better. Why? Because every second you’re fumbling with a quartz tube, there’s a chance you’ll get skin oils on it. And once that happens, you’re looking at a premature burn-out. Our lamps hit the annealing point quickly thanks to high heat density, but you do need to keep an eye on your power. Here’s a heads-up: if you jump to higher-wattage lamps to speed up your cycle, check your transformers first. You don’t want to overload your amperage. Plus, if you push the wattage too hard without the right cooling fans, the heat soak can actually warp your housing. Just a little something to double-check before you flip the switch.
